The following tests shown are designed and interpreted using pattern theory.
General History
Description: a general history is used to describe the pattern of events that occurred within a person's life.
Time: Approximately 15 minutes
Who Takes It: Adult or Child (age 12-99)
Results: Report offers a single “life score” with specific information about troubling life events. The report is used as a basis for individual interview to gather more information and learn about the life story.
Factors Include: Childhood & Adolescence Relationships, Alcohol, Drugs, Abuse, Edcation, and Employment (View sample report)
Adult Mental Health Test
Description: assesses adult psychopathology patterns in 9 clinical areas.
Time: Approximately 20 minutes
Who Takes It: Adult or Older Adolescent
Results: Report offers a single “psychopathology score” with specific information about individual disorders.
Sample Factors Include: Anxiety, Depression, Psychosis, Personality Disorders (5) (View sample report)
Education Assessment
Description: gives specific information about the child's attitude toward school with potential problems.
Time: Approximately 15 minutes
Who Takes It: Child (age 12-19)
Results: The test outcome gives 4 summary scores about school attitude, stress, and interactions.
Sample Factors Include: Attitude, stress, relationships, ADHD, confidence, study habits, learning problems, etc. (View sample report)
Child Behavior Checklist
Description: an adult offers their personal observations into their child's behavior patterns.
Time: Approximately 20 minutes
Who Takes It: Adult, Parent, or Guardian
Results: This test reports five factor scores with several sub-factor scores.
Sample Factors Include: cognitive issues, oppositional behavior, maturity, anxiety, depression, and aggression. (View sample report)
Family System Test
Description: this test was devised using criteria from "Supporting Families" a project designed to identify parental problems that produce child abuse. The test catagories were designed to show family strengths rather than weaknesses.
Time: Approximately 20 minutes
Who Takes It: Adult on themselves
Results: report offers information about 5 major factors with subtests.
Sample Factors Include: resilience, independence, social support, and family support. (View sample report)
Post Traumatic Stress Test
Description: This test questions the effects of severe trauma and determines the impact.
Time: Approximately 20 minutes
Who Takes It: Adult or Older Adolescent (age 12-19)
Results: report offers a numerical degree of PTSD present.
Sample Factors Include: avoidance, re-experience, arousal, fear, and disassociation. (View sample report)
MPA 1219; MPA 811; MPA 48
Description: The MPA series is the flagship test in the system. It was designed to measure a child's pattern of environmental and relational maturity.
Time: Approximately 20 minutes
Who Takes It: Children (Age 4-19)
Results: the report offers concise numerical information about the child's life experiences and potential behaviors.
Sample Factors Include: the child's sense of care, safety, support and boundaries with 17 subtests. (View sample report)
